A new shop in Downtown Lansing would like to assistance residents add a little bit of eco-friendly to their residences and offices.

Plant-lover Faun Donald and her boyfriend, Luke Trusnovec, opened the doors at Neva Lee’s earlier this thirty day period. Found at 123 E. Kalamazoo St., the shop traffics nearly exclusively in houseplants and their requisite extras.

Donald, who has worked in nurseries, greenhouses and flower outlets because graduating from superior faculty, stated there are loads of retailers in the spot that focus in outside crops with some indoor species combined in, but none that target exclusively on houseplants.

“Tright here isn’t one more plant shop any place near below that is houseplant-distinct,” Donald said.

Right after cultivating several species in their backyard, the proprietors moved them to a 630-square-foot place throughout Kalamazoo Road from CATA’s Transportation Center. On July 8, they opened their store, named for Donald’s Great-Aunt Neva, who died this previous calendar year.

Open up from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, the  shop was presently drawing consumers in its initial two months in company.

Robin Spinner, who visited the shop on a single of its initial days open, admired the foliage in the shop’s front windows.

“I liked the significant home windows and handwriting in the entrance,” she reported. “For someone like me who loves plants, seeing them in the window was great. Then you walk in and see this greenery, it was a awesome knowledge heading in there.”
